Sometimes group work that invovles students coordinating time and place meetings outside class can be a little...frustrating to say the least.

Perhaps this is why the first idea that comes to mind when I think about wikis is projects. Then again, it may come from having spent all day yesterday thinking on collaborative tools for students. I invision setting up a page similar to this one about some broad topic like the Texas Revolution. Then, individual groups would have the opportunity to cover a different, more narrow topic such as the battle of San Jacinto or the Fredonia Revolt. The students then would be able to sign on from home or school and work on their web page. In the end we would have a big beautiful site that encompassed the the whole revolution.
