I can envision using a wiki in several ways.  I could ask students to respond to a piece of literature.  The kids might enjoy reading what others have to say about the book or selection.

I can also see a benefit to using a wiki in conjuction with a group research project.  A wiki could be a great way to organize subtopics within the topic.
